Meet Yvo: our Consultant at the other end of the world

I have always wanted to travel. Traveling the world and meeting new people and cultures helps you to broaden your horizon and is an experience of a lifetime. However, to travel the world for a longer period is hard to do when you have a full-time job. Luckily I am working for Oxyma, where they fully supported me when I told them about my dreams to travel. And now here I am writing you from Hanoi, Vietnam about my journey and experiences so far.

What am I doing and why?

I travelled to Vietnam. And because I’m a people-focused person, I wanted to try out teaching. So I’m teaching English as a volunteer for 5 days a week, a couple of hours per day. But I also wanted to do something to further explore my interests and to develop myself. So I started thinking about the possibilities, and Oxyma helped me.

Asia, being at the other side of the world and having completely different cultures compared to Europe, intrigues me. It’s interesting to see what and how they do things here in a different way, especially when it comes to marketing. Oxyma and I decided that it would be very interesting to pay a closer attention to these differences and to write about them. This way we might be able to use this as an inspiration for future marketing actions.

Every month I will be sharing a post about my experiences as a Consultant dived under in the wonderful world of Asia. There is no good or bad here, the most important point is to look for what can we learn from the Asian market. So that is what I will do for you. You can expect a series of topics like how companies try to stand out in the wild jungle of Asian advertising and what we can learn from the mobile first culture in Asia. So stick around and I will guide you on my trip of wonderings.
